EAA and the Air Care Alliance are hoping at least 1,000 volunteer pilots and aircraft owners will register at the Oshkosh Fly4Life tents on the south side of Aeroshell Square to get recognition for their own efforts and to promote the cause.

We wish we could be there... We wish you every success!

Emergency ServicesWe have often seen that in situations of crisis or natural disasters small local airlines and private aircraft owners frequently become the crucial lifesaving links to emergency medical and support services, and their contributions, often under very difficult circumstances are quite heroic, and by-in-large unsung.

We are optimistic that through support and encouragement offered by the Fly4Life Concept that the participation of our aviation community in community care services can be further increased.

Wings For Medics

However, we believe that aviation humanitarian efforts should not fall solely upon the shoulders of small regional airlines and private individuals. This Wings4Medics section provides the opportunity for large, national, and international carriers to participate in providing free services for medical and emergency volunteer staff wishing to assist with national and global humanitarian efforts.

We are optimistic that national and international carriers who are also concerned about humanitarian goals will also open up new services for voluntary medical staff wishing to provide domestic and international medical assistance in regions suffering from natural disasters.

We would be happy to receive:
  1. Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Commercial Airlines
  2. Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Volunteer Medical Staff
  3. Assistance with Formulation of Practical Operation Procedures.

We appreciate that the aviation industry globally is currently going through a relatively difficult financial period, and many changes are taking place within the industry generally. Hovever, maybe this is a most appropriate time to include provision for broader community services within this re-structuring period of change. We are only hoping to fill empty seats!

If we take the warnings from environmental groups and government bodies seriously, we are perhaps also facing a period of increasing climatic and other natural influences which may result in a period of increased natural disasters globally. Are we prepared? Should we leave the burdon for structured global assistance to our governments and government resources?

We at Indonesian Aviation are currently planning strategies for improving aviation community crisis services generally and would greatly appreciate your comments, inputs, and suggestions.
